I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him. ~Abraham Lincoln

4th of JULY at the Hinckleys

Okay so I am a little behind but I am trying to get caught up so you will all know a little bit about what we have been up to the last couple of months.

Life is good and our American Freedom is sweet.
The 4th of July we just spent a nice day here at home with the family. We had company in town and we fixed a delicious barbeque in our new backyard, let the kids swim in the kiddie pool, and just enjoyed each others' company. We had fun breakin' out the cowboy hat and feeling like we are going to fit in just fine here in good ole' Oklahoma.

That evening we went to the University or Oklahoma and watched a magnificent firework show from the back of our car.

Kaden was in aaaahhhh at all of the sounds and lights!

WALKING and PROUD of it!!!

Everyone has been emailing me and asking me if my "squeezy Easy" ever started walking.

The ANSWER is YES!!!

You know how most kids go from the, "oh my gosh honey, he just took his first step" to the "oh he just took 4 whole steps"? Well not my Easy. He went from NOT WALKING AT ALL TO RUNNING! I was on the phone with my sister-in-law and I looked up and he was cruising across the floor from zero to 60. He is hilarious. I did everything trying to get that kid to walk and he wanted no part of it. In fact he would get mad when we'd force the issue. Then all of the sudden I guess he decided he was ready 'cause watch out he is movin' now.

My boys love the water. Wait, that is a slight understatement. They live for it! I am so jazzed that there are places that I can take the boys by myself (when Spence is at work) to get out of the heat and let them empty their buckets of energy.

There is this fabulous park right downtown where there is a FREE splash-pad. It is all enclosed so it is so easy to have all 3 boys there running to their hearts content and not have to worry about one of them drowning when I am not looking.

Thank you city of Norman and a BIG SHOUT OUT to Andrews Park.

"I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE..."

What a day! It seemed that every opposing force was working against us that day. Things kept coming up left and right that were throwing us off our schedule to get to the temple by 6:00. I was not going to let anything keep me from partaking of the peace and solitude that comes form entering the house of the Lord. I just kept praying throughout the day that we would get there and we would make it in time for our session.

Needless to say my prayers were answered and we made it by the skin of our teeth. It was a wonderful evening alone with my husband to ponder, communicate, and remember what is truly important in this life. Thank you Mom and Dad for being in town and watching the boys that night. I am so grateful to have a temple close by again after living in a place where our temple was almost three hours away.
