"One, Two, Three O'Clock, Four O'Clock Rock..."

We had the funnest 50's party at our church. We all dressed up and had yummy food, hula hoop contests, bubble blowing contests, and lots of 50's dancin'. What a great night! The boys had a blast!

Ever think to yourself...."Why do I even try?"

I had just finished sorting and folding all of the clothes in their individual baskets as to which bedroom they were to go to, when I ran out of the utility room to use the bathroom.  I was not gone more than a minute. When I came back, Easy and Jax had discovered the ever so neatly folded piles, and decided to have a clothes flinging contest!

I guess I should just throw the clothes in the chosen baskets and put them in the dresser drawers as I fold them.  Lesson to be learned every day in this house of three very active boys.

"I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home..."

We are loving our new schedule.  It is wonderful to finally have some normalcy in our lives after so many years of school and never knowing when daddy would get home.  Wait a minute!  Did I just say normal?  What is normal?

It is fabulous to have dinner together every night and have the boys be awake for a while after he gets home.  They love to run to Daddy and roughhouse with him.  The admiration is mutual.  Daddy thinks those three boys are pretty great!

"Summertime... and the livin' is easy".

As summer comes to a close, I just wanted to post a few highlights of our summer.
1) The Westwood Pool in Norman

2) Lake in Norman

3) Barbeque with the Awesome Bradleys

Love is a symbol of eternity. It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end.

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings.

I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!

I had the opportunity to fly to Utah and attend my cousin's sealing and marriage in the Salt Lake Temple - what a beautiful day. I had such a blast with all of my cousins and immediate family. Thanks for the memories.

I LOVE YOU KILEY. I AM SO PROUD of you and happy to have shared that special day with you.

I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him. ~Abraham Lincoln

4th of JULY at the Hinckleys

Okay so I am a little behind but I am trying to get caught up so you will all know a little bit about what we have been up to the last couple of months.

Life is good and our American Freedom is sweet.
The 4th of July we just spent a nice day here at home with the family. We had company in town and we fixed a delicious barbeque in our new backyard, let the kids swim in the kiddie pool, and just enjoyed each others' company. We had fun breakin' out the cowboy hat and feeling like we are going to fit in just fine here in good ole' Oklahoma.

That evening we went to the University or Oklahoma and watched a magnificent firework show from the back of our car.

Kaden was in aaaahhhh at all of the sounds and lights!

WALKING and PROUD of it!!!

Everyone has been emailing me and asking me if my "squeezy Easy" ever started walking.

The ANSWER is YES!!!

You know how most kids go from the, "oh my gosh honey, he just took his first step" to the "oh he just took 4 whole steps"? Well not my Easy. He went from NOT WALKING AT ALL TO RUNNING! I was on the phone with my sister-in-law and I looked up and he was cruising across the floor from zero to 60. He is hilarious. I did everything trying to get that kid to walk and he wanted no part of it. In fact he would get mad when we'd force the issue. Then all of the sudden I guess he decided he was ready 'cause watch out he is movin' now.

"To understand water is to understand the cosmos, the marvels of nature, and life itself. "

My boys love the water. Wait, that is a slight understatement. They live for it! I am so jazzed that there are places that I can take the boys by myself (when Spence is at work) to get out of the heat and let them empty their buckets of energy.

There is this fabulous park right downtown where there is a FREE splash-pad. It is all enclosed so it is so easy to have all 3 boys there running to their hearts content and not have to worry about one of them drowning when I am not looking.

Thank you city of Norman and a BIG SHOUT OUT to Andrews Park.

"I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE..."

What a day! It seemed that every opposing force was working against us that day. Things kept coming up left and right that were throwing us off our schedule to get to the temple by 6:00. I was not going to let anything keep me from partaking of the peace and solitude that comes form entering the house of the Lord. I just kept praying throughout the day that we would get there and we would make it in time for our session.

Needless to say my prayers were answered and we made it by the skin of our teeth. It was a wonderful evening alone with my husband to ponder, communicate, and remember what is truly important in this life. Thank you Mom and Dad for being in town and watching the boys that night. I am so grateful to have a temple close by again after living in a place where our temple was almost three hours away.

CARIBBEAN CRUISE JANUARY 2008

We finally got to go on "our cruise". Spencer gave me a cruise for Christmas a few years ago and because of some unfortunate financial set-backs we had to cancel our trip. I feel so blessed that were able to go on such a wonderful vacation, not to mention we were with the coolest family members. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

THE "JAX" MAN

"Personality has power to uplift, power to depress, power to curse, and power to bless". This quote says it all about little Jaxen. JAX is so full of life. At times it is adorable and at times I wonder if it is truly a curse. He can be so mad and just screaming at me and the next minute he looks like this....

What would I do without my passionate little man? I love and adore him so much. He definitely keeps my life exciting!

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

My dear friend and next door neighbor Kate. It has been such a joy knowing you, learning from you, and watching you grow into a beautiful independent woman.

Kate has been in Paris for the last 4 months and we have missed her so much. She has been such a wonderful friend to me, my husband, and my children. I cannot wait to see her in one month - just in time for our move. Kate, we have enjoyed all of the beautiful pictures of Paris that you have sent to us. Here is my favorite.

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt..."

Okay so if you haven't figured out yet, I love quotes and especially love making up quotes or changing ones that just don't make sense to me. So although that is a beautiful quote about painting by Leonardo da Vinci, I have to disagree with him on this one. When my kids paint, I SEE IT AND FEEL IT!

Have any of your kids gone through the painting obsession? That is what my boys want to do everyday. I had to learn the hard way the first time. I thought "oh they are going to be careful and not get paint everywhere". Yeh right! They now either wear a full coverage cape or they create their masterpieces in the buff. They sure are cute doing it and they are extremely proud of their work.

GO COUGARS!!!

For all of you BYU Cougar fans out there, we are starting him young. The poor kid is so skinny that the shirt is falling right of of him. Ha Ha I couldn't even get it to stay down over his big belly so that you could see the BYU letters at the bottom. Easton is going to have to be my little cheerleader since it doesn't look like a girl is in the mix for the Hinckley family. Thanks Easton.

Papa is his name

All the grandkids adore Papa. He has always been a favorite! I wanted to do something special for his birthday this year so I whipped up a little scrapbook page and put it in a shadow box so that he could hang it and be reminded daily of the three "little men" in Philly that miss him. They ask all the time, "Where is Papa? Is he in his RED TRUCK?"

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. ~e.e. cummings

I find myself going back through my photo library at least once a week just to find this photo and take a moment to remember what is truly important. My men were having a most wonderful time. I just wished that there was one more spot for me and a pair of red footed jammies in my size. Find a moment to laugh today, if you haven't already.

Boys Will Be Boys

All I can say is Thank Goodness for indoor family fun centers during the cold months. After two months of cold weather, my boys are bouncing off the walls - ready to get outside - but it is just too dang cold!
It is so nice to have somewhere to take them that is safe and clean, where they can run around, jump, laugh, and just be boys. This particular place is filled with the inflatable bouncers, slides, climbing gyms, etc. It is called JUMPERS.
We love it.
We go there a few times each winter. There are several other indoor places in the area, but this is our favorite.
I am so glad that I got a shot of Jaxen's out of control hair. His hair always pulls some crazy stunt when he is in his "active mode". Even Kringle (Kaden's Horse) had a great time on the slide.
